While Minerva Punjab FC First Team players have been buzy hunting for their First Hero I-League title as they hopped back to the top of the 10-team table with a 2-0 win over Defending Champions Aizawl FC, their Youth Development Team has been following the footsteps of their seniors as they seal 2 Trophys in just 10 days, 56th Principal Harbhajan Singh Memorial All-India Football Tournament on 22nd Februray 2018 and now The 22nd All India Balachur Open Football Tournament yesterday.
Minerva Punjab FC reserves who were coached by Gaffer Harpreet Bedi and Prateek Mandan featured most of their Academy products who were put to test as a part of their Developmental Programme, Skippered by Central Defender Arshpreet Singh from the backline Minerva Punjab FC remained unbeated through-out the tournament as they defeated Tripari FA with a 2-0 scoreline, courtesy to goals scored by Sylla and Harpreet Bedi. Thw Warriors who were favourite to win the title did not dissapoint in the Finals as they faced Gadshankar FC, defeating them comfortably with each goals scored by Kaidre and Mabiaa.
Skipper Arshpreet Singh was adjuged as the Man of the Tournament for his staller performance which helped Minerva Punjab FC bag a cash prize of Rs. 81,000.
Meantime, Minerva Punjab FC who now travel to Coimbatore to play Chennai City FC will look forward to maintain their top spot in a muct win encounter.
